How does the Mural/Design process work?

First, wattcha looking for? Please fill out the Art Project Inquiry form below or shoot me an email at Jen@StudioJenHughes.com with the info needed. We will then schedule a call to talk through your project needs and make sure we are a good fit!

A standard mural ranges between $30-$40/sqft. This includes all concept work, moodboards, design illustration mock-ups, materials, and actual hours of painting. There also may be additional fees for high spaces, rushed projects and rental equipment.
If you have a certain logo or completed design in mind, cost may decrease based on simplicity of design.

We chat about the project.
When we decide to go forward, a contract is drawn up and a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is due, which is applied to the final mural cost.
You send me any inspo ideas and I create a custom mood-board to make sure we are on the same page. One round of revision is provided, additional rounds are $150.
I provide a digital, full color illustration for your review and approval. Two rounds of revisions are allotted. Additional rounds are $300.
Once a design is selected, dates are set (if not already determined) and materials are purchased.
Let’s Paint! This is where the fun begins and your custom design comes to life! The remaining 50% is due THE LAST DAY of mural completion.

Yes. Schools and Community-NPs who heavily give back have my heart! I am happy to work with you and your PTA on a lower per/sqft cost. For schools, this requires written Principal and District approval BEFORE we begin the design AND 2-3 committed volunteers to help paint part of the mural.

My typical custom artwork ranges from $1-$2/sq inch. If it’s a large piece with very simple graphics, it could be less.
For Digital Illustrations, there is a $250 project minimum. Each graphic design can vary wildly and specific projects needs must be discussed. My design fee is $75/hr and an estimate will be provided after our initial discussion.
